Previous owner used the manual tilt valve when the tilt motor would not run. Now I have repaired the motor (2wire type) but the pump will not flow any oil. My question is, what is inside the body that is marked M Valve? All I find is the threaded plug with 2 o rings on it. I have striped and cleaned the pump and all the valves, but cannot see how the M valve controls the flow of oil. There is nothing to restrict or seal the oil passages behind this plug.

Re: suzuki DT65 tilt pump woes

Update on question re: Suzuki tilt pump woes, Clymer manual doesn't give much help. But, it is fixed now. Made up a steel spacer tube, 6mm od, and 5 mm long, faced the ends off true, and installed it under the manual tilt release plug. Inside the gear pump there are 2 ball check valves in the top plate these were not sealing completly, so I made up 2 very light gauge hair springs and placed these under the balls. Pump works great, for how long? Who can tell, but we are back in buisness. Why Clymer publications cannot print an exploded picture of the pump and components is beyond me. Oh, the local Suzuki dealer quoted me $950.00 plus taxes (14%) for the pump.
