Suzuki DT85 Teleflex Premier tachometer

Hello,

I have a 1990 Suzuki DT85 and I recently purchased a Teleflex Premier Tachometer. There are many settings for Cylinder and Pulse on the back but it seems that no mater what I set it to it does not display correctly. It does not do anything at idle and goes all the way around at WOT. Could someone please tell me the correct setting or do I need some sort of sending unit?

6P (pulses) would be the correct setting
