My son has a 1986 Suzuki DT/150 that is getting too much oil on the high and low end. Being a mechanical oil pump, can it be disassembled and reassembled in such a way that it seems to always be wide open for oil distribution? He just got the engine and it keeps fouling new plugs within twenty minutes running time and he doesn't have any history on it as to what the previous owner may have done to it. The fuel pump diaphrams are OK and all linkages are adjusted properly, carbs have been cleaned but all six cylinders keep getting loaded. Anyone run into this problem before? Would appreciate some feedback on this one as he is really having a rough time trying to get it running right for the shrimping season. -- Ron

Re: Suzuki Oil Injection Pumping too much

in the shop manual, there is information about adjusting the length of the connecting link between the carburator linkage and the oil pump bellcrank.

my manual is 100 miles away, but i'm sure someone else will speak up with the defined length.

no need to disassemble/reassemble the pump itself.
