I have a 115 suzuki and last year i did the whole winter thing to it in its slip. I am on a fresh water lake. This year I have driven it a bit and sent the boat back to the factory for some other than motor work except a new prop...not much bigger than the old one. the boat ran great for about an hour or so and we refuled at the marina and putted (its a pontoon) for an hour more and then decided to go to a different marina to eat. when i got on it, it would die till i backed off the throttle and eased it back up. the boat will go what seems forever at 4200rpm but when we go to full throttle it goes for a few min. but then dies...i have not over reved the motor at all. simply put i drove the boat prior to refuelling at full throttle and it ran just fine. now it does not....bad gas? did i miss something that i should have done when i first started to drive it again? help pls...spouse is blamming the new prop....

Re: suzuki problem weird

Could be the fuel pump of course but seing as you had just refueld you could have a clasic case of sediment in your fuel system. I run a large canister filter on my DT140 for just that reason. Did that and the problem went away. Oh and by the way do please use Stabil in your fuel. I pulled my boat out of the garage yesterday after sitting all winter. Did the lower unit, started the motor on fresh 50:1 to be sure the oiling system got working and switched over to my tank and no problems.
Hope this is of help.
