Have a 2003 suzuki 225 dt counter rotation that has a problem shifting into forward. It works some of the time and when it doesn't I shift it into reverse then back into forward and it works. This does not happen every time just once in a while. When looking at the shifter under the cover it seems to be going into gear just fine. Like I said this only happens once in a while. I changed the lower unit oil and no water or metal . When it's in gear it runs fine. The prop has not spun. Hope someone has a answer.

Re: Suzuki shift problem

if shifter rod moves up and down the same distance every time then it in lower unit.the shifter rod is in the middle between carbs. its pretty easy to check out of the water. spin prop by hand make sure ign is off. if in gear prop will be very hard to turn by hand . in neutral it will spin freely
