Hello - I bought a 1990 Four Winns Freedom 150 with a Johnson 60hp, and just found out the 60 is junk (poor compression). I was able to find a 1993 Johnson 115hp to swap. I noticed the controls looks the like the same connections, but I'm wondering about the ignition motor cable assembly. I checked the model numbers on each engine's assembly and they are different, but the wires (color) and connector are identical. What the chances I can just plug the 115 ignition connector in to the current 60 connector and go? I don't want to short anything out. Thank you

Remove the 60 HP --------Install the 115 HP.----------Hook up the controls and check cable adjustments.---------Go boating.----It is all the same stuff.---Verify if oiling system is in service and working properly or whether you need to mix at 50:1

If you are running the VRO pump (using the factory remote oil tank) you will want to be sure you bleed the oil line to the engine's fuel pump prior to startup.
