AND---Walla, as they like to write on this forum, or Et Viola' as the French would write it. Removed the "Small" 140 and installed the Big Black Beauty. Total time: about 1 1/2 hours (because the black one fought me).

Now, since I am switching from a distributor Motorola ignition to a Prestolite ignition, I need to spend about another 1 1/2 hours rewiring the control box, changing tachometers, and other small stuff

Frank, Will you share a link to you info on Chrysler?s long and short L/U legs (advantages, disadvantages, needs to make the swap). I feel I saw this posted by you not so long ago. The info should help in the post at this address below.

Thanks! I?ll try to save the info and address since the older Chryslers are my interest.

Great work Frank! What hull are you hanging her on? I feel your pain as I am currently in the middle of rewiring that older prestolite 90hp that I bought to replace the thunderbolt 90hp that blew up last fall. Got the new control box & cables installed and about 70% of the way through the wiring...though who knows how much trouble shooting I have once its hooked up. I plan to update my thread once its all hooked up and finally get to turn the engine over for better or worse.

Jerry - Haha yea I am, but I am learning a whole heck of a lot. Got the wiring most of the way there now, but just need to get the wires from the ignition to the shifter hooked up. Can you tell me if that shifter that you sold me has a neutral warm-up? It seems that you are supposed to be able to do that with the Morse MT-3 shifter by pulling out the handle, but I just can't seem to actuate it (might just need some monkeying with).

Now put the white one on your 14ft test hull that had the experimental 85hp please ;). I bet you would get 60mph if the hull could hold the weight of the motor safely. That would be a heck of a show, and ride!

Tater: How did you know I was planning to do that? For a while I was even thinking about mounting the 150 on that 14 footer but then I had an attack of sanity.

Besides I NEEDED the big black beauty on my 21 foot Manatee cuddy
