Has anyone ever changed a hydralic system to an electric system? If so, is there a kit or something that can be purchased?
Thanks

The replacement kit is the same one that you would use if installing brakes on a trailer that didn't have brakes at all. Depending on the hubs you have, they may or may not be suitable for electric brakes. If they don't have the flat machined surface where the magnet rides, they can't be used for electric brakes. As a minimum, new backing plates (the actual brake assembly) is required which replaces the original.

Would electric brakes be ok for a boat trailer?

Not the best choice for saltwater but they are used in fresh water. However, water and electricity are never a good mix.

Electric brakes are commonly used in freshwater applications without incident on a regular basis.

You will need a brake controller in the tow vehicle with electrics tho.

Can anyone point me to a reputable trailer manufacturer who recommends and supplies electric brakes on a boat trailer on a regular basis?
