Is there a way to extend the swim ladder on a boat ?? Somthing that would get fastend and flip up when not in use ? And not rewqire you to remove the existing ladder and add more holes to the hull ??

We only need one more step i can get in but the others seem to have a harder time ......

Any ideas ?

Re: Swim ladder extention ???

When I had my father on board (77 and not too flexible), I added another step with some rope and a stick. Kinda ghetto and temporary, but it worked.

Re: Swim ladder extention ???

I made a 2 step extension for the ladder on my pontoon boat out of some 3/4" copper pipe that's worked for us for the last 12 years. I soldered everything together beforehand except for the caps that attach it to the original ladder. I looped some cable around the bottom rung and fed it through two holes in the cap, and then used a couple of cable clamps to anchor it. I then slid the extension into the caps and soldered them. I drilled a couple of holes on the bottom of the extension to to allow for drainage.

Kind of hard to describe. Here's a ruff drawing that might help my explanation.
