Swim platform with longer top mounting rails

I think I've decided to skip trying to put a full-width swim platform on my boat and just go with a small platform on the port side. Seems easy enough, but all of the I/O platforms I've found seem to have mounting rails that go straight up, assuming that the platform will be mounted entirely on the transom itself.

The way my boat is built, the platform itself will be on the transom just below the rub rail, but the top mounting rail will be on the cap of the boat. This means that the top mounting rail needs to be longer to extend further toward the front of the boat to meet up with the cap, as the cap is angled away from the transom.

It's hard to explain. But a picture might help.. The black line represents where the mounting rails are on all of the swim platforms that I can find. However, on my boat, I need the top mounting rail to extend further, indicated by the red line.

Does any swim platforms like this exist?

it's the same swim platform, you just need a custom installation... you need to purchase some stainless tubing and have it bent to your specifications....

Re: Swim platform with longer top mounting rails

You are probably right, smoke. I was just hoping I could get away from doing the custom installation and bending tubing myself.

I'm actually going to try my hand at bending some 7/8 aluminum tubing later this week for my bow rail repair, so I guess that will give me a good idea how to do the job.

It just seems odd to me that most of the swim platforms being sold are assumed to be mounted entirely on the flat transom without any of the support rails going up to mount on the cap. Definitely not a one-size-fits-all solution.
