Swim Platform

I am tring to find a new or used replacement for mine. Ours currently is 99.5" by about 18, and just under 2" thick.

It is in three pieces. The center has a two step, (above the platform) ladder. The frame of the ladder is rooted on the transome and the platform. The port and starboard are identical, except for the ladder that goes into the water. It is on the starboard side. It is part of the platform, you lift it up and it lowers to the water. It lays horizontal and you lift it up and when its vertical it rests in the platform.

Any info on where I can purchase a new or a used one for a decent price, I would appreciate the help.

Its a big one for sure . .. I think hes in over his head.

Most peeps that I know with an 8.5' platforms and flybridges dont come to DIY forums .

Got that electrical problem fixed up yet Zam ?

Get some pics and year/make/model ( if its a 440 SR then I have my suspictions ).

Its a 1977 Fiberform. Unfortunately I have not been able to locate a model number. 28' and about a 10' beam.

Wiring almost done just trying to figure out why I don't have any cabin dashlights, or low oil light on my port engine.

Do you want a wood/teak one or FG like the one you have?

Theres a few how to articles on making your own. I plan on making one out of the composite decking sold at hardware stores. Some of the ones I have seen turned out amazing. Maybe an idea.

I made my own, but out of teak.

Very nice, was that a replacement you made? Your rails look like they were made for that platform.

The factory one was made out of walnut and somebody had put 20 coats of varnish on it. It was like ice when wet.

Either, but I would prefer plastic. The one there lasted 33 years? And with plastics now UV resistant, it would be maintainence free for the remainder of it life.

Yours look awesome, but I don't have the woodworking skill.

The plastic on the platform where the bolt goes thru the transom. It got brittle with age and broke off. The rest of the platforms are in the same condition, but in different spots.

Sounds like a trip to Tap Plastics on Pacific Ave for some epoxy and cloth should work.

Unfortunately, the rot is worse than we thought. Any repair would only me a very temporary band aid. Does any one recommend a place where I can have one built on-line or local to me, in Stockton, CA?

I would need it complete, stainless brackets, support arms, etc..

Yeah, my old one is what, 33 years old? But we got hold of a fiberglass person and he is going to put together an estimate to build a platform for us. Hopefully it is a bit cheaper than the estimate we got to have a plastic one built for us.
