Looking at adding an aftermarket swim platform & noticed that there are several out there to choose from. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Re: Swim platform

For the Chap folks that follow, Cecil Marine mentioned above is THE place to go for Chap parts. Of course you've got some options on the internet like swimplatforms.com. I don't know which Chap you have or your storage situation but I can't fit my Chap in the garage with the swim plaform on. Its a huge bummer but thats the reality so no platform. Also i'm only presuming your boat is a Chaparral given the first response to your question.

Re: Swim platform

I have a swimplatforms.com one on my 250 SunDancer & love it. I like the way it is mounted as it has no braces below the water line. Seems like good quality and fits nice. Not sure what is available for your boat but they have quite a few patterns.

Re: Swim platform

Thanks for the help fellers. It is a 2001 Chap sunesta 252. I have a barn that is 50x80, so room & storage is not a problem. I will repost on Chap forum for additional responses! Thanks again.

Re: Swim platform

Chaparral makes a really nice and sturdy swim platform, custom made for the back of each boat (not sure how the aftermarket ones compare). Unfortunately, they don't keep most parts for boats this old so you may be limited to the one-off, NOS, units remaing unsold in the distribution chain (eg Cecil Marine).

Re: Swim platform

I have a 2001 265 SSi
ordered ESP from Cecil and Chap factory made it (this was last year)
then they drop shipped it to my home
as I recall I had it in less than 2 weeks
It is an exact fit and included all the hardware (around 1500 dear)
Call Joe at Cecil
