I am in the market to get a swim platform for my '91 Bayliner Capri 2050. It has the stern drive and I really don't want it to hit a new platform. I have e-mailed 3 manufacturers and got some good responses, but I want real world opinions. So who has them, how do you like/dis-like it, who is it made by, how much was it shipped, and can you post some pics? Thanks in advance. I want to get this done pretty quickly, before boat season starts up. i am mainly a lake/river guy, but occasionally an ocean goer too (only within eye shot of shoe though). I use mainly in California, Arizona, and Nevada fresh waters. :D

Awesome. they are one of the places I was thinking about. Do you have any pics? What kind of boat do you have and did you go with flush mount, or under mount?

It looks sweet!!! It doesn't interfere with the stern drive at all while on trailer? That was a concern of mine, but looks great.

was thinking the same thing. gotta love the types of places people turn into indoor boat storage.

an old grocery store on the island I live on was converted into indoor storage. kinda funny looking at the boats parked by the frozen food section

It does not interfere with the outdrive or prop.

Thanks!

They make very high quality platforms...

Did you have installed or do it yourself? I am looking to do the install myself and am wondering how hard it would be. Thanks for the pics. Truly a beauty.

I have posted pics of it here before.I will try to find them.Do a search if you can.My boat is a Regal commodore 280.We had a teak platform on it and wanted to update to a larger fiberglass platform. My wife and I installed it with the help of a picnic table that was the exact height we needed it to be.Intsallation was easier for us since we already had a platform.Highly recommend.Charlie

I just bought the boat in Michigan, I live in WI so I had the dealer installed it. The only reason I didn't do it myself, is the boat went directly to storage last week. My storage happens to be at a boat canvas shop, so I needed it installed so he could make a full waterline cover for it. According to Ron swimplatforms.com installation can easily be done in an afternoon by someone with simple mechanical skills. A buddy to help would also be beneficial...

Swimplatforms is where I got mine, 1999 bayliner 2050, I dont remember how much it was, but it was worth every penny!! I have a hydrofoil on mine and have to stop the trim at about 85% up, which is more that enough to trailer, if you do not have one it will more than clear.

+1 on swimplatforms.com.

Had mine installed by a shop last September. It went on my 1993 20' Chaparral. It was $1433 for the platform (included: crating and freight). The shop that installed it was another $800 for installation. I have only had the boat on the water once since it was installed and we did not go swimming....but it was at the perfect height for the boats waterline while not under power. Plus it looks great and is very well made. You will not go wrong with this platform.

It does not interfear with the I/O, but I think the shop that installed it made an adjustment to the max amount the drive can be trimmed in order to avoid it hitting the platform.

The close up pic of the platform has a slight pink color to it. There was a reaction with the fiberglass catalyst when they cast the platform. The installer called me to take a look at it before he installed. I called swimplatforms.com and they had great customer service. No arguments or excuses....they made a new one and rushed it to me (at no additional expense to me). They are very nice and very responsive to all questions.
