Anyone know of a company that makes spring wing arms of various sizes. An example would be like a long swinging wall lamp but without the lamp.

Example:

I want to mount a small camera on the end of it so I can swing the camera around a decent sized area of maybe 10' radius.

Like a makeshift boompole that can be mounted to a wall?

Or would I be better off designing something myself?

I would prefer something that does a max swing of 52"

Have you looked at computer monitor arms?

They have a typical mounting plate that has holes on 100mm or 200mm spacing. You could use that to mount your camera.

You are probably not interested in the commercial ones but they run around $200. Let me know if you need some manufacturer names, but you should be able to find them at a number of computer outlets ( for example, http://www.frys.com/product/5955924...kNuiiNfUg**.node1?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Best bet might be to get the lamp in the picture and go at it with a sawzall.

How large a camera are you going to be working with? I have taken apart those lamps and used the arms for various projects over the years, I have seen those types of lights with arms long enough to accomplish what your description is saying, but it is going to depend on how heavy the camera your planning on using whether it will hold the weight.

I was going to use it to mount in an auto shop in various stages of production.

Closest thing i can think of is camera mounting brackets.

That is a nice selection of cheap camera mounts I like it.

The camera weights .2lbs:

I think maybe something portable might be a better option. Some thing that can ftp it's images you shoot on the fly to an ftp server...or a local server could be figured out too.

Any suggestions?
