switching stearing cables

I have a 50 hp. sea king with the cable pulley <br />type system.<br />is there a conversion to up date to a hydrolic?

I'm sure you can go hydraulic, but it wouldn't be the least expensive route. A rack and pinion single-cable system (such as a Teleflex) can be had for not much more than $100, and they operate very smoothly.
