I've pumped 20 pumps into the grease zerk at the top and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Any ideas? If I had to guess, I'd guess there's a whole buncha grease in an empty cavity up there and that there's too much old grease to let the new grease come out the bottom.

Well as they get worn it gets easier to put grease in. Less resistance. Yes there is a big cavity there, you may be able to see it from the inside of the transom with a mirror. 1 or 2 pumps should be plenty a few times a year.

If you see grease coming out on the outside of the gimbal housing, the seal's shot and needs replacing. But what you have now is a LOT of grease on the inside of the boat. If you have access, have a look just above the steering arm... That's where all your grease is now... ;)

Ayuh,.... Prop shaft grease,.... ;)

Awww, but I bought the special spline grease for that! :blue:

I'll figure out a good use for it. I have yet to repack the trailer bearings.
