Hello,
I purchased my H-180 2009 with a Volvo Penta 3.0 four cylinder and an SX-A 2.18 outdrive last year in February.
The first year we had our adventure with some corroded rubber hoses for the cooling system and fixed some other cooling issues. This year the boat runs better so we purchased a wake board. After we went out on the lake pulling the board for one afternoon the boat stopped but started right away.
We had the boat out several times and now we have the following.
Boat response well to gas and the motor runs smooth.
- If I run 3500 or faster, I get a high noise rattling noise and the engine will lose power.
- If I stay at 3000-3200 I can run for hours across the lake.
- at idle we do have a stronger vibration of the engine but no bad noise (might be something different)
The boat is from 2009 and I?m wondering if this could be the U-Joint and or gimbal bearing
If I take the engine out of gear and manually open the throttle the engine cranks up and runs smooth.
Last year as I performed the service the oil was pitch black and this year it was still see-through.
Any input would be helpful
Thanks
Mike
