sx drive doesn't lock in

Hello from Malta,
We are installing new D3-130 Diesel engines with SX drives.
All went well till we tried to lift the SX drives and put them into the brackets.
We got in - but for 50 mm - the last part to fix the bolts.
We tried to rotate the propellor in forward and in reverse - but no luck
Anybody with bright ideas and experience for this problem?
Please HELP......

Did you make sure the engine alignment was ok?
It may be the new orings on the ujoint shaft. Put some oil on them. Sometimes you have to bump the drive a bit to get the orings past the gimbal bearing the first time.

Thanks Don, many thanks for your time, yes we did, we bought a special alignment tool from Volvo, we tried it before setting the engines and then before we put the drive in place. See image 149 of 152 in the picasa album. The alignment is 100% OK.

The alignment is 100% OK.

Just to prove a point, carefully remove the orings shown in the picture. Then see if the drive goes all the way on easily. If it does, put the orings back on and put some oil on them. Then give it a kick, it's go.
