My outdrive tends to leak (fall) down over time. There are no fluid leaks that I can see on the exterior or interior. The fluid level is fine. Does my problem lie within the pump itself or could the rams be at fault? Thanks

Ok, thanks. I did find a decent set of videos on youtube covering this problem and how to test for it

If you are saying that the drive is drifting down then it is ONE of TWO things.... First is one of the piston sealing rings in EITHER cylinder is leaking by OR you have an issue in the trim cylinder pump...

Do not panic,,,, There was a Bulletin for the pump.. 44–5 2 01 ....
and as for the cylinders there is a rebuild kit available on Ebay by 3 people that will repair the issue and provide a complete overhaul of both cylinders... Runs about $115..

Do not fall for the BS from the Ebay guy claiming VITON better than new. Viton is just a different material that O-ring are made of...

Please do not PM me as I rarely come to Iboats any more.... Not that I do not like the forum, I love it, but I am so busy that the only time I come on is when I have a lull in my schedule and I have time to pass on some knowledge...
