SX-M Drive 1.60

Ok here's what I got VP cobra SX-M 1.60 Ratio S/N 4112051867. Driving a 5.0gl S/N 4110164027. Motor BLEW UP.

The Question:

I am going to repower with a Mercruiser 5.7 and I don't want to change my lower drive gears, if its not broke don't mess with it.

I know I neeed to change my prop for WOT, but will the whole shoot be that bad?

It's a ski boat so whole shoot is important but then I do want WOT.. I know I want my cake and eat it too..

Now I can stay with a 5.0 thats not a problem.

Just some input would be great..

Try the prop you got with the new 5.7 first. After that you'll know what prop you'll need if any. If anything I would think you would have a better holeshot. I use two propsets, one for ski, the other for cruise. Works for me. I don't know what kind of boat you have so I'm just guessing.
