Hello,

I recently pulled out of my brother in law's garage a Sylvan 18PFO fishing boat with an internal gas tank. Boat has been sitting for 3 years without running...trying to empty all the fuel that is sitting in the tank...how?

I would remove the 3/8" fuel line from the motor side of the primer bulb, if it's crimped you can just cut the crimp off. Get a longer piece of 3/8" fuel line and a hose clamp, then run the hose out a splashwell hole and into the gas can sitting on the ground. Once you get the fuel started coming out it should continue with the gas can being lower than the tank. When finished put the original hose back on with the motor fitting and clamp it tight.

Syphoning is tougher than you think.
You have no way of keeping the end of your hose down on the bottom of the fuel tank, and can't tell if it is at the lowest point in the tank.

Using the method described by Waterman above, will drain the tank all the way down to the bottom of the fuel pickup.
The primer bulb on the fuel line will easily start the fuel flowing.

Am thinking I need to do the same thing as I ran it very little last year or the year before. I put some new high octane fuel in it last year to mix with the older fuel but didn't run it much last year. I thought this method might work but wasn't sure. I tried syphoning from where you pour the gas in and for some reason, just couldn't get it started so I will give the above method a try. Thanks. On another note, I wanted to put on a fuel shutoff valve anyway. Don't know why Tracker doesn't have those installed. Mine is an 03 Model.
