Synthetic and xd 30

I have a 97 Intruder 150 and i've been running xd 30. At the Bassmasters Classic show I was given a gallon of Pennzoil full synthetic for free. Will it hurt to run this or mix with xd 30 that is in the tank now? Is the synthetic oils better for this engine or stick with the xd's? One other question I have is. I want to put a small jack plate on the boat and was wondering about recommended brands and if a manual is okay or spend the money for a electric/hydraulic unit. Not looking to be a speed demon just think there is alot of performance in the boat i'm not getting now because the center of the prop is 6 3/8" below the bottom of the boat. The boat is a 97 LS 175 Hydrasport. Thanks for any help in advance.

you may just be able to raise the motor a hole of two, than the expense of a jack plate.

I think the Pennzoil 100% Synthetic is better than XD 30. But, if I had your engine, I would use XD 50, which is a synthetic blend for little more money than XD 30. XD 50 has CarbX in it so you would have an advantage from that as well.

See "http://shop.evinrude.com/dyn_prodlist.php?k=84008" copy to your browser without the quotation marks.

I would think that the motor is close to where it can go without the jack plate, but we don't know what propeller you are using. If the center of the propeller is only 6-3/8" from the bottom of the boat, The A/V plate must already be up a good amount above the bottom.

I agree with Ezeke, I run the XD-50 and am quite pleased with it.

Hopefully DHadley runs across your thread, he is well versed in jack plates.
