Re: Synthetic oil

I do believe the 10,000 different opinions on oil won't answer that question

Re: Synthetic oil

Todd,

Robby6950 is right. There have been so many forums and opinions on the subject and what it comes down to is what you feel is adequate. Let me explain further. This past weekend changed my oil. The last time it was replaced was when it was winterized last fall. Since then, I have put on about 50-55 hrs. I used syn (Amsoil 15-40 marine). I have a VP 5.7 Gxi (2003) which calls for syn. Could I have got by with regular dino-certainly. Did i pay more-yup but not that much. Do i have peace of mind using syn as opposed to dino-yup. Is syn better than dino-don't care. If we were talking several hundred dollars that's one thing but why care over a few dollars when it comes to your engine. The dino vs. syn debate will go on forever and probably never get resolved. I gave up trying to decide and went with the expensive stuff.
