Do a search for synthetic, Duck.<br /><br />This subject has been beaten so badly to death I don't want to discuss it.<br /><br />Also, go to the Engine FAQ section and read the article there.
It's better, period. The only reason not to use it is if you can't afford it. Less smoke, less wear in the engine, easier starts, and possibly more RPMs. Absolutely no disadvantages.
