T-Top for 21' Wellcraft

We are in the market for a T-Top for our boat but I have a couple of questions.<br /><br />1. The top will likely be canvas (Sunbrella). I really want black. Is it hot, or does the color really not make that much of a difference.<br /><br />2. We will need it to be telescoping so that we can still use our boat lift. Does anyone know who makes them? I tried Tops and Towers but couldn't find what I was looking for.<br /><br />Thanks

LadyFish, you and I are in the same boat, so to speak...<br /><br />Most tops a custom made to fit... There are quite a few shops here in Florida who build custom tops priced from $600 and UP! And I mean, WAY UP... <br /><br />I talked to one shop about an idea for building a bare bones, simple folding T-top for my 21 footer, and when the guy gave me a price I had to ask him if he was serious ($2800), and he said YES... No thanks...<br /><br />Anyway, I don't know if you have Boat Trader magazine (pick em up at the kwik-e-marts like 7-11, ect.), in your neck of the woods, but that's where many of the T-top builders advertize around here.<br />Might find someone here.. http://www.boattraderonline.com/partssearch.html

Thanks for the link Snapperbait, I'll check it out. We might have to have it custom made locally to save on shipping and ultimately assembly/installation. We figured around $2,000, I sure hope its not more than that.<br /><br />One thing I can assure you is the hubby is tighter than bark to a tree yet demands the best quality on everything he buys.<br /><br />I'll keep you posted on our findings.<br /><br />Thanks again.

ladyfish,<br /><br />If you goto SeaBrook or Clear Lake its by Kemah boardwalk. There is a place called tops and tower. Or something towers. It is on Nasa One. Coming from Galveston youtake 45 N and then exit nasa one and goto clear lake and keep going. You will pass up NASA on the left and then go around the bay until you see a tower place on your right. They make tops for everyday cruising boats to expensive yachts. buddy bought a boat it a fine top built by them 10 years ago and its still solid. they also have tops and strataglass and all kind of goodies for tops. I believe it is called tops and tower. Hope this helps.
