69' Johnson 85 horse. Where would I find the <br />tachometer reference on my motor? What I mean<br />is what wire do I use?

Sbrice... If you're asking about the "pulse" wire that operates the tachometer, that would be a "gray" wire that is at the control box/console end of the instrument cable.<br /><br />If the "gray" wire isn't there, the pulse wire would be the "yellow/gray" wire leading from the rectifier to the engine wiring terminal board (on the powerhead).
