Tach for 1981 75hp 756h1g

Am I correct in thinking my tach needs to be of the 12 p type?

Once again it is a 1981 Chrysler 75 HP 756h1g.

Has anyone ever owned a Hurricane sportsdecker?

I don't remember the years exactly, but if it is Motorola ignition (Big Black Box), then it is a 12 pole alternator. If it is Prestolite with 1 coil for each cylinder and two smaller boxes mounted on a plate, then it is a 20 pole alternator
