tach help, what kind?

the bayliner i bought has no tach, i want to tune it but i need the tach, any idea of what kind of "bolt on" tach i can buy and where? its a 1985 85 horse force, and by the way the telltale works great, thanks for the help!

That motor requires a special tach that will work on a 20 pole stator. They are getting to be hard to come by.

The 20 pole tach have all but disappeared in the last 4 months.

I have that exact same setup and this is the Tach you need..... looks like they are going fast when I ordered mine a little over a month ago they had 57 left....

what is the diffrence between a 20 or 12 pole tach?

its the amount of magnets on your stator.. you have to use a tach that matches the pole numbers to get a correct tach reading...
