There might be a plug on the back of your controller that you can get a pigtail for to hook to the tach, It is located on the face of the rear of the controller under the key switch. If you find that and can get the pigtail, it will have three wires coming out of it, the gray wire is the signal wire and goes to the signal or pulse post on the back of the tach, the black is a ground and goes to the ground or - post on the tach and the third wire (Brown ? maybe) goes to the power post on the tach, If not the gray wire is the signal from the stator and goes to the signal or pulse post on the tach, one more wire is power for the tach which is 12 volts from a switched wire, one more is a ground, a forth may be 12 volts for the lights that comes from a dash or running light switch. If you have to dig the gray wire out it is in the controller or under the engine cover on the power strip, it will have a yellow or yellow striped wire coming to it.
If you have the old Force tach the setting is probably not the same and you'll have to look up the pulse setting for your motor and adjust the switch on the back of the tach.
