tach install gw invader 25hp johnson 1980

need help running wire to/from engine/tach. not sure how many poles this engine has? tach is rated for 1-8 settings depending on # of poles. looked thru manuels but they don't list poles. i'm guessing 25hp don't normally run tachs. i've restored this 73 invader and need the tach to complete the gauge cluster. any help will be greatly appreciated.

I believe you have 16 pole/8 pulse motor

thanks for the reply, do you know where i can look to wire this into the motor? manuals don't give me a clue.

If you have controls there may be a plug for tach. If no plug, you'll needto find 12vdc pos from panel keyed from ignition, mine is purple. You'll need a ground. And you'll need the gray wire from the rectifier for a sender signal. Also may be a lead from light switch for a bulb.
