I have a 1995 3.0l outboard with no tach responce the tach zeros with keyon-engine off and getting about 12.5-14 volts on sender wire the Tach is made by faira and i have the setting for pole set to 6p. What is the best way to tell that the tach is good and any suggestions on the tach issue.

Re: Tach issue

your new motor is a 12 pole not 6

if your tach reads up 7000 rpm use setting 5

if it reads to 6000 rpm use setting 4
