Tach not working

I have a 2000 Yamaha 225 salt water series II outboard. The tach on my dash gauges quit working. What could be wrong.

Just check the connections. Theres not much that can go wrong with them. Other than faulty stuff.

check all the connections
also through the switch back and forth, i have seen then get corroded
