tach plug on old MerControl

my manual doesn't seem to cover how to test the<br />3 prong plug in front of control box where you're<br />supposed to plug the origional tach. changed the<br />rectifier last season and picked up another used<br />"Thunderbolt" tach, but still nothing....<br />('70 merc 1150 with white MerControl box)<br />thanks in advance,<br />M.Y.

three terminals:<br />-ground<br />-live with key on<br />-signal<br /><br />Is your charging system working?

If you think the problem is in the cable between the receptacle and the tach, Teleflex makes a replacement cable.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
