Tach Setting

I bought a 1988 Tracker Magna with a 70 hp Mercury. It has the original Tracker tach in it. I noticed it was a little off and some had been messing with the dial on the back of the tach. What is the setting for it ?

That is to match the tach to the number of pulses your stator puts out. In your case it should be set to 6P for 6 pulses.
