Re: tacho question??

If your boat was sitting at the dock, and you wanted to do some tuning with a test prop in place, the automobile unit would be fine.

The difference comes with shock resistance and corrosion resistance in actual, prolonged marine usage. The car unit is not designed for either.

Re: tacho question??

Boat/US always has something on sale--if you have one nearby. Or keep an eye on eBay--I bought one of these new Lund 0-7000 RPM tachs

from this guy about four months ago, but he obviously has more. I paid about $16 for mine. He is honest, great to deal with and an iboats member. He always seems to have some good stuff--check his other auctions.
