Ok, someone, while discussing the bogging down of a 350 IBoard Cobra setup with a Quadrajet, stated that a bad tachometer may short out [or something] that may cause a bog down while running the motor? Never heard of this before and is someone pulling my windless????

Re: Tachometer causing stall?

If the sensing lead from the coil (Gray wire) shorts out to ground inside the tach, it will kill the ignition.
So yes, it can cause a no spark condition. Not sure how it could only cause the engine to bog down.

Re: Tachometer causing stall?

If the path to ground (inside the tacho) is resistive, not a short, then it will weaken the spark. Possibly causing a bog condition.

just my 0.02

Chris.........
