Tachometer for 1985 85 hp force

I'm looking at getting a tachometer for my 1985 85hp force outboard and was wondering what type I need. I found this one and was wondering if it would work with my motor.

As long as it has input for a 12 pole alternator (which most marine tachos will) then it should work.... The feed for the alternator comes from one of the input posts on the rectifier....

The alternator for a 1985 Force 85hp is actually 20 pole. The tach's for a 20 pole alternator are not as common as a 12 pole so look closely before you buy.
