Tachometer install on a 1989 Evinrude 88 h.p. SPL model E88MSLCER

Hello everyone,<br /><br />I have a quick question. When installing a tachometer is this how you do this, the black wire from the remote control harness goes to the ground on tach, the purple wire goes to the ignition on tach, and the grey goes to the send on tach. Then I can jump a wire from the switch to lamp for the background light? Also, would I set the tach to 4C 6P? I just want ot make sure I am setting this tach up right for a 1989 Evinrude SPL 88 horsepower V-4 model# E88MSLCER

setting is correct, it's 6 pulse.
