I have a yamaha pro series II tach for my 70TLR yamaha two stroke. I suspect it is reading half actual RPMs. The yamaha website states: "Pro Series analog gauges are offered in an illuminated, black-and-orange faceplate design. They’re engineered for those running F20 to F300 outboards".
I found that those motors are 12 pole (and four stroke of course), while my motor is 6 pole and two stroke. Am I correct that the tach is reading half of actual RPM? Thanks!
