Tach didn't work and replaced with new tach. Still didn't work. Upon starting, tach jumps to 800 rpm then to 0. Set at 6p. What do I try next?

Use your volt meter and see if the battery is charging. At high idle (1500rpm or so) voltage across battery terminals should be 13+vdc. If it's not, the rectifier is bad and that's why the tach isn't working.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
