I have a 1985 Lazer with 150 xr2 of same year. I need to replace the tach. It has one that goes to 8000 rpm. My manual states wide open throttle is 6000. Could i use a 6 or 7ooo gauge. Thanks

Re: Tachometer

A 7K range is plenty. Also, how ofter do you run at 6K RPM? If not often, a 6K range will work.

Re: Tachometer

I run normal WOT rpms at 5600 and in a tight turn I'll pick up a little air and move up to 6k till I complete the turn. No problems with a Quicksilver OEM 0-7k tach....3 cyl OB. In doing prop slip calcs, the numbers seem accurate for the equations.
