Twin 2007 115 hp Yamahas with Yamaha FMS. For engines to sound in sync the starboard tach must read 400 rpm higher than the port. Also at WOT the starboard tach reads 400 rpm higher. Both in acceptable WOT range. Any suggestions to correct?
Thanks,
Ron

Re: Tachs not in sync?

If it was me, I would swap the lower units as I could do this in twenty minutes....you can't swap just props due to left hand/right hand rotation of twins, but this is done with the lower units....swapping lower units will make the srbd motor turn left and port turn right....won't hurt anything but may make boat handle funny, shouldn't matter in straight line much. If the problem goes to port motor with lower unit.....then it's probably prop related and you could take a little pitch out of the port prop(after swapping lower units back to original). I would try taking 2" of pitch out.
