I have a 1988 Bayliner Capri w/a Force 85hp 3 cylinders. I want to install a tachometer. What will work on my boat.

If you are merely looking for a tach for testing, buy a Tiny Tach and use that. It is digital readout and you can set it up really easy as well. JMHO

As mentioned tiny tach or one of those infrared handheld tach that uses a tape on the flywheel.
