Tahatsu outboard advice

I'm going to look at a 70's 25 hp Tahatsu. The owner says it runs great. For 500.00 bucks I hope so! He says it was recently tuned up. Anyone experienced with this engine, please let me know. Thanks!

Howdy, Mountainboy.<br /><br />I agree with RJS. <br /><br />Tohatsu engines are very good and are popular with commercial fishermen because of their simplicity and reliability.<br /><br />But.<br /><br />A 30 year old 25hp outboard probably isn't worth $500, no matter who made it.<br /><br />Good luck
