Does anyone no what the differences are on the TAHOE Q series boats. I purchased a 2008 Q 5i with the 4.3 mercury. Just can't find anything out online about what the differences are. There's Q4 all the way up to Q7 I believe. Anyone out their help me out? Thanks

I’m not much help here to be honest…but many times, I’ve read or been aware of Tahoe boats being fairly low in the pecking order of build quality over there in North America. Other than that and that I’d never seen one in person over here in the uk…is all I knew…until this year.
So then during the winter, I saw one for sale here (very unusual) with a 4.3 around 2007 year. Was very cheap, even compared to a similar size bayliner 185 with a 3.0 in price. I sent it to a friend who was after a new boat and something a little different. He then went for it and got her delivered. Having now seen her up here…for the money…I was very impressed. I can’t remember what model it is…but she is about 19/20ft and seems to have a lovely appearance and decent trim level. Certainly a step or few above your average bayliner or maxum etc. Pleasantly surprised, I was.
Having learned more about them since…I believe they come with many different levels of engine options. The same boat can seemingly come supplied with anything from a 3.0 carb…to a 5.0 mpi! So not short of options there. But certainly my friends new boat (I think a Q5 or Q6 from memory), seems lovely. And not underpowered with a 4.3 tks carb at all.

In the Tahoe line the Q series typically denotes the length of the boat. Higher the number, bigger the boat. That's the most obvious.

There may be seating arrangements, motors, feature differences as well. You'd need to dig into the models to be more specific.

In 2014 the Q4 was an 18'1" vessel.
The 500 was 19'1"
The Q5 was 19'6"
The Q7 was 20'7"
The Q8 was 21'10"
Then there was the 215, the 216, the 220, the 225, etc. all differing from the Q series by a couple of inches.
Then there was the S1 and the Limited models which differentiated interiors and engines, etc. Tahoe has more options than the pharmacist has pills!
