Just wondering what most people do when they sell their boat. Got a bigger one and am selling my little one to finance goodies for it. Should I leave the name on or take it off. I am going to name the big one SSTazII

I'd leave it on. If the new owner wants to change it, then he can.
My last 2 boats came with names that I liked, so I kept 'em!

One school of thought is to make the boat look as "new" as possible for the new owner. Take off the name, remove any personal stuff, etc....let the guy imagine it the way it was when it was showroom new. Also, pull out the extras that take up space, like clothing, life jackets skis, pails, etc. Include them in the sale, but the boat shows much better with nothing extra sitting around. Good luck!

I bought "pier pressure" and was told it was bad luck to change the name. Glad pier pressure is an ok name lol.

She is washed and waxed, and ready to go. Show room is an overstatement. 1971 MFG Gypsy, but she is clean and a good runner. Think I will leave the name on her cause she has been good a boat. I am renaming the 1973 24ft Rienell and will do the ceremony properly for sure. No need for King Neptune to give me any problems:eek:
