Hi, I have following these threads for some time reading about boats taking on water, but haven't rally found a solution. Hers my situation, when I'm running the boat I take on a small amount of water in the bilge, say maybe 2-3 quarts over an hour period, but when I'm docked I don't get anything unless it rains hard and I get water in from above.
I have checked all the obvious places, but cannot see where it's coming from.
One thought is do you suppose that rain water is being captured under the floor and when I'm under power the boat rises and water finds its way aft into the bilge?

Impossible to say, but could be. Your going to have to get a mirror and a flashlight and look around. When water is leaking, it leaves a residue trail (if the motors clean). Otherwise, you just have to keep looking until you find where the water is coming from. Bellows, water pumps, head gaskets, block, drains, could be anywhere.

You have a hose that runs from the thermostat housing back to the transom, and connects to a barb fitting. If the hose is loose on that barb fitting, it'll slowly pump water into the boat while the engine is running.
