Taller Bunk Boards??

I am replacing my bunk boards on my 19 foot trailer. My boat sits very low in the trailer and am constantly worrying about my outdrive hitting the ground when going over dips or bumps (it has happened on more than one occasion). I am thinking about replacing the current 2x6x8 bunk boards with 4x6x8 to gain extra clearance. Has anyone done this with their trailer? If not, do you know of any problems that could arise because of the taller wood? Thank you!!!

what size are your wheels and tires?

Do you raise the out drive on the road?

Yes, but the outdrive does not raise very high (while in the trailer position).

You may want to check that the outdrive will raise to it's highest postion.???
Pics would be nice.

If you don't need new boards then slide a spacer under your current bunks. I would also look at the hitch height and determine if you can lower the front end at all. Measure the effects of lowering the front by measuring the distance to the floor in the parking spot. It wont be a 1:1 movement.
