Tandem portable gas tanks with one tank non OEM?

Is there an adapter to make this switch using one fuel line, or do I need 2 fuel lines?.. 1964 Mercury 650 and I have an original Merc 6 gallon tank, want to add a mid 60's Elgin as a spare tank and use 1 line if possible. The Merc tank has the 1/4 turn connector..

You should be able to make a short adapter line to couple them up.

Thanks. It actually just dawned on me that the fuel tank connector is removable.. I'll have it hooked up with no trouble at all. New connector is only a $15 part from Sierra
