I have a 2005 Harris FloteBote that I need a tank sending unit for. It has a 50 gal tank . It is 24 inches deep. The type universal sending unit that I bought by mistake will not work because it has the swing arm float arm at top It has to be one with swing arm at bottom of tank, I googled the original numbers on the tank unit but came up with nothing. I have found a few Reed type but none yet that works with a tank 24 inches deep. It has the five hole pattern. The original tank unit came up missing so I really don't have one to go by other than what I remember it looked like. Any suggestion much appreciated.

The tank on this Pontoon is built in the pontoon boat made of aluminum. Fifty gallon. The page you showed is only one that sends me somewhere else. No 24 inch deep tank sending units there , at least as I could see. It has to have the swing arm on bottom of sending unit. I have found many but most have the swing arm on top and that one will not work because of the way the tank is made. I did find part of the old one and got numbers but google gets me nowhere when I type them in. Tom

I guess that was my next question is which one is that I need with the tank being 24 inches deep. You are saying I need to the 23 inch ? and it will show the correct amount of fuel in the tank. The one that came out is 12 and 3/4 inch from bottom of sending unit to the middle of where it swivels. I do understand that it is not a reed type. These reed type are a little expensive but if I have to but one to make it work so be it but I would think someone makes the one that came out of this tank.

You will enjoy your reed sender over the swing arm type. Note that it will readout on the gage in something like 2gal increments or "steps" (rather than a continuous sweep) and that may take some getting used to.

It really depends on how many resistor switch combinations they used to make that reed sensor. Obviously the more resistor and reed switches, the more fluid the reading will be. Longer units read better then short ones because of the limited space to get more reeds and resistors in place. JMHO
